Thank you Esquimalt, for your votes of confidence!
On November 15, Esquimalt voters selected a new Council for the next four years. I am so grateful and honoured that you elected me as part of that Council.
This election was full of engagement, ideas, respect and pride in our community. It’s been a wonderful way to enter public service as an elected official. For that, I thank all of my fellow candidates, many of whom have become friends.
We begin our new Council term on December 1. I look forward to working with Mayor Barb Desjardins and Councillors Tim Morrison, Beth Burton-Krahn, Meagan Brame, Lynda Hundleby and Olga Liberchuk. I love that we have diverse perspectives and I know that we’ll work respectfully together to move Esquimalt forward.
I’m going to try to keep this website going as a blog for Council matters, although I can’t promise that I’ll have a lot of time for blogging! I am pleased to continue in my day job for the Community Social Planning Council. There will be regular discussions via my Facebook Page, which you can join with a “Like” on the sidebar on this page.
My first priority is to gather information about the financial and operational aspects of the township so I can be a good steward for the municipality. Based on a situational assessment of the township, I’ll create a set of my priorities and work with Council to prepare an action plan for our first year in office.
You can contact me through this website still. I’ll soon have an Esquimalt Council email address for you to use as well.
Thank you again, Esquimalt. I look forward to serving you!
